Why Has God Become Flesh to Perform His Work in the Last Days?

The brother went on, saying, “So then, why does the Lord have to appear and work in the flesh when He returns in the last days, and not appear and work directly in the resurrected spiritual body? In the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus performed the work of redemption. Though our sins have been forgiven, our sinful nature remains deeply rooted within us, we are filled with such satanic dispositions as arrogance and conceit, selfishness and meanness and wickedness and deceitfulness, and we are still capable of involuntarily sinning and resisting God. If this carries on, then we will never be made clean, and we will be simply unworthy to enter into the heavenly kingdom.

Editor’s Note: In the Bible, it is recorded in Zechariah 14:4, “And His feet shall stand in that day on the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall split in the middle thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.” Many Christians think after reading this verse that the Lord Jesus will return in Israel in the last days. Nowadays, the Mount of Olives has long since been broken, and we also now see disasters happening more frequently all around the world, with wars and terrorist attacks occurring all the time, blood moons constantly appearing, and all the prophecies in the Bible concerning Jesus’ return have basically been fulfilled. And yet we still haven’t heard the news of the Lord’s return coming from Israel.
